Well, oddly enough, I landed a full-time job at JCP. I'm supposed to get a call in thenext couple days to set up my training time. Anyway, I'm having a bit of trouble getting clear anwers about benefits. I know there is a 90 day wait before eligiblity. But, no one seems to know what the premiums are. I'm sure it varies depending on the family size etc., but it would be great to know what percentage of the premiums the company contributes, so I can decide whether to stick it out or keep paying for COBRA.
another thing that I thought of, was, since they want me to work the Kids dept., would it be ok to wear "fun" clothes, as long as they are professional? I mean, colorful and cute, rather than suit-y.
thanks!!! I appreciate it! |

Just wanted to say welcome to the site, and good questions that I can't really answer for JCP. I would ask about what to wear, and as far as the insurance, well, you will find out soon, depends on the policy and the co. and how many in the family etc... I will state that with Rite Aid we had Etna(great ins) for just my wife and I, over 40 it ran me about 35 bucks a week. _________________ There is a better world out there than Dollar General! |

Welcome to MEET. Looks like you have 90 days to decide, so you have 90 days to ask around once you're at work every day. It may be cheaper for COBRA with the Fed Recovery 35/65 split. But COBRA is limited to 180 days(?), and if you don't sign up for JCP benefits in 90 days, you'll have to wait for open enrollment a year later.
Once your at work, you'll also see how lax the dress code is. I'm guessing it'll be business casual regardless - many times even if you're assigned a dept, they move you around. I had to wear business casual even when unloading the truck because of this. _________________ Just Because They Serve You . . . Doesn't Mean They Like You. |
