Instead of dealing with the jerks you were working with, contact someone in HR, preferably the HR manager. That will probably solve the issue, if not...do like pipes. _________________ There is a better world out there than Dollar General! |

I really hate to see you get an attorney, as they will take a BIG % of whatever is owed you, for nothing more than makng a couple phone calls.
If you go to your State Labor people, they will give you the paperwork you need, and usually show you all the places to fill out, etc. and they make the calls and so on. Heck, that's what your taxes pay for already. |

Unfortunately, HR is just as bad about lying and being unethical as the rest of them. They have the KMART mentality that employees are not worth investing into or to be dealt with. We are nothing but a nuisance to them. Sad. _________________ Home is what you make it. |

Speaking from the views of a Family Dollar employee... HR only gives lip service. They will act understanding... may even side with you (over the phone of course)... but when it comes right down it any legal issues or actions... they work FOR Family Dollar first...
Don't expect HR to do you any favors...
As already suggested... contact your State Labor Board... most have a web-site and will walk you through the process...
On my particular State's Labor Board web-site... they will even suggest when it's time to contact an attorney...
Good luck and get busy writing down everything you can remember... because times... dates and sequences to events are important... _________________ ~Another day... another nickel~ |

If they owe you vacation time, they have to pay it, if it is an earned vacation. HR may be jerks too, but they know that it is owed to you, so they "normally" just pay it without an issue. No need for an attorney. However, anything else they will....: | Miss Retail wrote: | Speaking from the views of a Family Dollar employee... HR only gives lip service. I got my vacation pay at the end of November. I should have gotten it 2 weeks before with my last paycheck. Oh well, at least they paid up. _________________ Home is what you make it. |
